Chas Rigby - Pearls CD Album
Southport born Chas Rigby had played his first gig before he hit his teens, drummed with his first band aged 17, got married, and divorced, by his early 20s, took up the guitar and played the folk circuit by 30. For many this would seem a lot to have happened in a short space of time but when you add a series of ep’s and albums, being at the centre of the Manchester music scene, launching an album at the renowned Astoria in London, American acclaim and success, playing Glastonbury and taking time out to cope with the death of his wife into the mix it is clear to see that Chas really has experienced the highs and lows, the ups and downs of life’s rich tapestry and come out the other side of it all still standing.
However on his new album ‘Pearls’ we find Chas emerging from his musical shell looking outwards rather than inwards, and delivering a largely more upbeat guitar led (courtesy of Simon Lilley) folk pop rock orientated album.
